The AT Mega2560 Arduino R3 board functions as an Android Accessory Development Kit (ADK) and can be powered using a USB connection or an external power supply. “The system automatically selects the power source. External (non-USB) power can come either from an AC-to-DC adapter (wall-wart) or a battery. Plug a 2.1mm center-positive plug into the board’s power jack to connect the adapter. As a USB Host, the Mega R3 Android Accessory Development Kit (ADK) will allow the phone to draw power from it when it needs to charge. When powered over USB, the ADK provides 500mA total for the phone and board.
